Dayton H6512

Manufacturers Info

Brand: Dayton Audio

Mounting Type: 1-3/8"-18 TPI

Dimensions: 12" W x 6.5" H x 4.25" D

Additional Notes:

Horn throat is slightly too large leading to a driver exit to throat mismatch which I have noticed on most of the Dayton Audio Horns and Waveguides.

This waveguide is a clone of the JBL 338800-001 progressive transition waveguide though the horn profile does not appear to be an exact copy of the JBL.

Measurements:

Test Notes: Off axis and polars measured using a Celestion CDX1-1731

Mic distance 1m, measurements gated at 5ms and are smoothed at 1/48 Octave.

Vertical:

Vertical Polar Response - Normalized to On Axis

Final Notes:

Both horizontal and vertical dispersion appear to be slightly wider then rated I'd put it roughly 100 x 60 degrees. Horizontal coverage is constant over most of the range but there is some waist-banding just below 2k and the the throat diameter mismatch adds a kink in the top octave. The unbranded clone has a better throat size you can see the improvement is makes here.
